Author Spotlight: Amy Richie

Today my spotlight author is Amy Richie.

Amy Richie has lived in a small town her entire life. She lives with her three kids and their pet rat jasper. She began writing in high school but never took it seriously until a few years ago. She enjoys writing because it takes her out of her everyday life and gives life to the people in her head. “When I was little I wanted to be a mermaid, then in high school I wanted to be a vampire; now as an adult I’m a writer, which is better because now I get to be both.

Author Spotlight: Stephanie Witter

Today my spotlight author is Stephanie Witter.

Stephanie Witter is a dreamer. She started learning English at three, and fell in love with the language. Always with a book, or two close by, she started reading in English when she couldn't wait any longer for Harry Potter to be translated in French. After a while, reading wasn't enough. She started writing Young Adult and New Adult Contemporary novels filled with drama. Now, she hopes to translate English novels into her mother tongue as her everyday job. By My Side is her debut novel.

My review for this masterpiece -

's review
Mar 08, 13  ·  edit

Read in March, 2013

This was my first ever read outside my genre, and it was beyond superb.

Lily's family is falling apart, her father is leaving and her mother turns to alcohol to drown her sorrows. Lily is left all alone and has only her best friend Andy to run to.

But when Lily arrive at Andy's home what she found was not what excepted. Andy's behavior towards her throws Lily into an ever darker pit. Her best friend is pushing her away. When left all alone and nowhere to go the person there for her was her childhood enemy Andy's Brother Gabe. Gabe has been the heart breaker of the town, then left for college, returning to find salvation for his own heartache. Now Lily finds that all she knew about Gabe was wrong and that the person now standing by her side is the person she least expected it to be.

Between the brothers a feud sparks because both wants to be with Lily, who will win her heart? But when Lily's world comes crashing down around her, there is only one.

This book was filled with so many emotions it was an addictive read from start to finish. Your heart bleeds for Lily and Gabe and you find yourself grabbing for some air just to survive the next Chapter. It's intense and filled with real life issues that all day young adults have to deal with. A absolute must read. Author Stephanie Witter writes with passion that grabs your heart, I am looking forward to more novels from her.

Author Spotlight: Katherine Polillo

My spotlight author for today is author Katherine Polillo.

Katherine Polillo originally planned to grow-up and run away with the circus, but after realizing that she had a debilitating fear of heights that squashed her dreams of being a tight ropewalker, she instead pursued a career in education.  She currently teaches high school history and fabricates fictional stories in her free time.  She never really out grew her imaginary friends stage, and instead has created lives and stories for the creations of her imagination to live in.  When she is present in reality and not off on an adventure with her imaginary friends, she lives in a small, New Jersey town with her husband and their two spoiled rotten, ungrateful cats.
