Book Description:

In the aftermath of a major health scare, Pepper Holts makes the relief-inspired decision to seize the day. Unfortunately, most of her “seizing” involves a bit of merlot and her best friend's pants! After a shared night of passion she realizes that her feelings for Jax are a lot more complicated than she ever thought.

Jax has finally realized that his allergy to marriage has nothing to do with the institution itself, and everything to do with the women in his bed—or more specifically, the one woman not in his bed. Her reaction to their one night together has him scrambling to regroup. So he does what he knows best—he disappears, and he thinks. The plan?—convince Pepper into staying with him at a secluded cabin for one week. One week of pretending to be a happily married couple to show her how great they could be together.

Excerpt

“Hell, Pep, I missed you,” he said before dragging her from her chair into his waiting lap.

He dipped his head to the crook of her neck and engulfed her into a tight hug.

There was nothing quite like a Jaxon Grey hug. He hugged with his whole body. His tall frame and broad shoulders always curved just right around her, immersing her in a mantle of warmth and shelter.

She dipped her head and rubbed her chin onto the top his head and closed her eyes.

“I missed you, too, jackass.”

His resulting rumble of laughter caused his chest to shift against hers, and just like that, her back stiffened in addition to a few other things along her body.

She bit back a groan as her nipples tightened against the lace of her bra.

The warm gust of his breath against her neck wasn’t helping matters either.

“You’re such a sweet talker,” he said. “And since I like you so much, I promise not to spank you for your bad behavior.”

He pulled her in tighter and began to rub the base of her back. His stroking hand was far from soothing as it settled low, and his fingers grazed the swell of her ass. All it did was remind her of how good his big hands had felt stroking her naked flesh.

She shifted uncomfortably on his knee, trying to scoot away from the heat of him.

“I’m sorry, but I left my Emily Post handbook at home.”

He lifted his face from the crook of her neck and drifted his hands lower. Holding on to her hips, he dragged her forward and caught her gaze with his.

“Really? That’s too bad. Chapter six is dedicated to the perfect way to drape yourself across a man’s lap. Feel like practicing?”

Both his suggestion and hooded gaze held her captive for a few silent seconds. The idea of his strong hands spanking her ass flushed her body with heat.

Character Interview between Veronica and Remy from Deamhan by Isaiyan Morrison

Deamhan Banner 450 x 169

character

The first time I met Remy, I walked through the front doors of Dark Sepulcher, on a mission to find out what happened to my mother. A lot had changed since then. Now I find myself living in Blind Bluff Manor, a sanctuary owned by a human, Nathan Tiernan. There's so much wrong with that concept.

Nathan and I are the only two humans living here among three Deamhan. Hallie, who has still yet to understand her new life, Anastasia, a Ramanga who doesn't want anything to do with me, and Remy, the charmer.

Remy agreed to sit down for the interview on the condition that I ask him questions that he felt would benefit our friendship. Confused by what he meant, I agreed to the interview.

Veronica: First of all, I'd like to thank you for agreeing to be interviewed. In a few words, could you tell us little bit about yourself.

Remy: Thank you for having me Veronica. My name is Remy. I currently reside at Blind Bluff Manor and I'm a Lamia Deamhan. Are you going to ask me what that is?

Veronica: Um, yes in a little bit. But first, what can you tell me about the day you were sired?

He slowly crosses his legs and his lips pull back slowly into a smirk.

Remy: Oh, that time was a difficult time. Revolts, uprisings, protests, murders, deaths.

Veronica: What exactly was occurring?

Remy: The French Revolution of 1848, my dear. The under privileged classes raised up against their government and its mistreatment of the people.

Veronica: So how did you fit into it this movement? Did you protest during this time?

Remy: I wouldn't call it a movement. Veronica, that is a long, boring topic and I'm sure you don't want to focus on that. Let's talk about now, shall we?

Veronica: I think this is an important time in your life Remy. It's worth mentioning.

His eyes narrow and his smirk disappears from his face.

Remy: Believe me. It's not worth talking about. Besides, that doesn't beat the good, juicy stuff happening now, does it?

Veronica: Excuse me?

He leans in closer to me.

Remy: This is my interview, isn't it? I like to believe that I'm an interesting individual with interesting obsessions. I'm full of surprises. Why don't you ask me what I think about you?

Veronica: Fine. What do you think about me Remy?

Remy: You're interesting concoction, my dear Veronica . When I first saw you I thought to myself that I had to have you. The night you ran out of Dark Sepulcher, scared that I might . . . eat you- I only wanted to get to know you, that's all.

Veronica: I'm not to be had by anyone Remy. I'm not some science experiment.

He moves in closer. By now I'm starting to feel uncomfortable and I realize that this interview isn't going to go the way I planned.

Remy: Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better. So, what do you think about me?

Veronica: I don't think you want to know.

Remy: Try me.

Veronica: Well, I find you menacing and disgusting. I don't appreciate the way you stalk me here, invading my privacy and space. We all know that Deamhan don't love anyone but themselves. So the real question is, if you can't love, then what is it that you want with me?

Remy: Ahh, I keep forgetting about you researchers. You always know more than you pretend to. Love is a desire to be with someone. It's finding the beauty among all the darkness and giving it the attention it deserves. When I see you Veronica, I see that you should be loved. Do you want me to love you?

Veronica: Your explanation doesn't make any sense. This just proves that a Deamhan's concept of love is far beyond what love truly is.

Remy: You researchers say we can't love but I know that I can. I have before.

By now I had enough.

Veronica: I think we're done here Remy.

Author Interview with Fierce Dolan, author of The Fangirl’s Dream

Fangirls Dream Banner 450 x 169

Today we have author Fierce Dolan on the blog for an interview, thanks so much for being here Fierce. So sit back and let’s find out more about this author.

Author Interview

When did you first consider yourself a “writer”?

I considered myself a writer when I was about four years old. My mother transcribed stories for me, before I learned the alphabet. Considering myself an author has been a very different road, though. I published my first book 9 years ago, 8 books and 5 anthologies later, it’s taken me a long time to adjust what I thought being an author would look like, and realize how it really looks.

How long did it take to get your first book published?

My first book ever, it took a year. My first erotic release took about 3 months.

What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say?

The Fangirl’s Dream is everyone’s fantasy of meeting their favorite hot fictional lover.

Who is your publisher? Or do you self-publish?

I have worked with a few publishers, and also self-published. I really enjoy working with Decadent Publishing. They provide a great community of support to their authors and really understand that community is what solidifies relationships and fosters growth. Publishing independently has given me a greater appreciation for that community, and also enabled me to expand my skills in production.

How long does it usually take you to write a book, from the original idea to finishing writing it?

On average, it takes me about a month to write a shorter manuscript. Getting it into shape to submit, then jump the hoops of revisions and resubmitting is another timeline, all together.

What can we expect from you in the future? ie More books of the same genre? Books of a different genre?

I have really enjoyed writing interracial erotica, which I will likely continue to write. I want to verge more into intergendered characters, people whose lives are on the line in a very visceral and inescapable way. I‘m also interested in exploring diverse relationships dynamics in poly relationships.

Do you read all the reviews of your book/books?

I doubt that I do. I read some, though I’ve learned that usually isn’t informative in a helpful way. I think often authors look to reviews for feedback on their writing, which is a huge mistake. That’s what beta readers and revisions are for. Reviews from readers aren’t for authors. They’re for other readers, and you can only hope that the reviews are fair.

How do you come up with characters names and place names in your books?

Usually the characters and places are essential to the plot, so it all comes to me at once.

Are character names and place names decided after their creation? Or do you pick a character/place name and then invent them?

Do you decide on character traits (ie shy, quiet, tomboy girl) before writing the whole book or as you go along? Elements of writing a book come to me like a paintball splatter, all at once, and often in a jumble. Usually character traits drive the plot in some way, so they are there from the beginning. Things like being a nail-biter may flesh out as the plot evolves, but big traits, like being a Dominatrix, wanting release, or needing to save others are there from the beginning.

Are there any hidden messages or morals contained in your books? (Morals as in like Aesops Fables type of "The moral of this story is..")

If I answer that, they won’t be hidden anymore! But yes. Everything I write has layered meanings, intentionally. I often write Readers Guides to my books, to engage readers in their thoughts on the books, and to learn their relationships to them. I’ve always enjoyed that part of reading a great book, and I like to lace little interesting bits throughout my own.

Which format of book do you prefer, eBook, hardback, or paperback?

Wow. This is s hard one. I prefer hardback, though I live in the sustainability mindset and find ebooks more in line with my lifestyle. It’s been hard for me to make that transition. Now that I have, it’s really challenging for me to read a physical book. I’m more likely to read digitally, if at all.

What is your favorite book and Why? Have you read it more than once?

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Southern fiction is not particularly on my radar, though this book is perfect. I’ve read it at least three times, and every time I’m astounded by what a fantastic example of writing it is. She not only nails every theme the book touches on, but she actually crafted a story and characters that support it completely, start to finish. It is an absolutely perfect novel.

Do you think books transfer to movies well? Which is you favorite/worst book to movie transfer?

On the whole, I think book-to-film sucks. I understand that the mechanics that make a book work are not what enable a film to progress properly. Those kinds of changes I can deal with. Ones based on box office draw and dumbing down really bother me. For instance, Carrie and To Kill a Mockingbird are great adaptations. The Lovely Bones and the Narnia series, not so much. And often, it’s not that the entire film got it wrong, but the last 10-15 minutes of the film unravels the best of the book.

Your favorite food is?

I don’t have a favorite food, so much as favorite food genre: Asian food. I’m gluten-free, and for the most part, Asian foods are perfect for my food needs, and they are divine. I could live in shrimp fried rice, butter chicken, and roasted lamb with zatar and olives. Now you got me started. I might even have to cut his interview, short now. Wow.

Your favorite singer/group is?

All-time favorite is U2, old school. Now, I’m not so much about a specific artist or group. I like just about anything that isn’t country or jazz. I know, how uncool of me. But there you go.

Lost in the wild

Captive by circumstance…

Endangered

He had no flaw. The character hated swimming, a permissible preference, otherwise he was strong, dark, mysterious, a whiz with technology, compassionate, and smoking hot. More than all of that, she ached to save him. After years of servitude hacking U.S. GPS drone systems for the Iranian military, he’d broken away by selling Intel to the American government. Finally able to enjoy his first vacation, he was in a bus crash, then later abandoned by the other survivors.

She could save him, restore his faith in humanity, on her knees or bent over a table, which for most men would inspire just fine. She saw no limit to the possibilities in smoothing the ever-present worry lines from his brow.

Ever obsessing about the show with her friends was one thing. After it aired, they’d all bed their boyfriends, even Frank, and through squinted eyes fantasize the cock in them belonged to their television lover. Siler didn’t have that outlet, hadn’t had it for ages. The girls all thought her lack of mate some prudish nod to morality, or deep-seated insecurity. They didn’t know she’d enjoyed raucous sexual freedom in her younger years. No, she didn’t have men at her door in droves now, but not for lack of trying on their part. Her dedication to becoming a federal public defender, however thankless, and saving the unsavable eradicated any hope of a personal life.

Yes, she missed the regularity of a thorough dicking, but it had always come at a high price, one she refused to pay again. Through her twenties, casual sex had been fine, fun, even. But a thirty-year-old bar hopper was just sad, and at thirty-two, after shallow dalliances with a string of Mr. Wrongs, she’d given up.

A year and a half ago.

Being drawn into Endangered proved the perfect Prozac. Her spirits lifted. The relief of not looking for Mr. Right left her free to focus on her caseload, to connect with her clients—society’s castoffs—and try to fulfill her purpose of helping others. Sexual needs became muted, manageable with the right tools—for the most part. Occasionally her body ached for release under someone else’s touch, and in her mind he always had an olive complexion, not to mention agile fingers masterfully working her clit.

Every time, she closed her eyes, she saw Farraj. His face above hers, lips parted in a moan. His lean, hard body moving over, around, in her. His rolling, rich accent asking, “Like this?”

And why wouldn’t it be him? Fantasy gave better than the womanizing pricks her social circle presented. As a well-off single woman, no pressure urged her to find a mate, materially, or even socially. Siler could hold out for the hot love she wanted, and despite how insane, how irrational, she wanted Farraj Reza. Only one avenue presented itself to get him.

Describe yourself what is your worst and best quality?

My worst? People will tell you it’s because I’m a go-getter. I see something I want and I go get it. Haha. I don’t let anything stand in my way. Even Max, our manager. Best? I’m not sure…Blair will say it’s because I love everyone and genuinely care, so I’ll go with that.

What is the one thing you wish other people knew about you?

That, even though I do play guitar, sing and write the songs for the Huntsmen, I can play drums pretty well, too.

What is your biggest secret something no one knows about?

Now…would that make it a secret? ;)

What are you most afraid of?

I’m afraid of being afraid. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself, right?

What do you want more than anything?

To live happily ever after. Make my grandmother proud. Maybe be a dad one day.

What is your relationship status?

I married Cinderella.

How would you describe your sense of fashion?

On stage, I probably look like your average rock star. Off stage, I’m all about some jeans and tee shirts.

How much of a rebel are you?

Haha, I’m not much of a rebel, I guess. Never was. Sean, Ty and Richie took care of that for me.

What do you considered to be your greatest achievement?

Two things. Finding my Cinderella and the Huntsmen.

What is your idea of happiness?

Sitting on the couch with my guitar at night while Blair looks out the window at the stars…I’d be watching her more than working.

What is your current state of mind?

Very peaceful. I feel complete. Like some part of me was missing and I didn’t even know it until now.

What is your most treasured possession?

My Cinderella, of course.

What is your most marked characteristic?

I’m going with all of these tattoos.

What is it that you, most dislike?

Cold hearted people. Cruelty. Self-centeredness.

Which living person do you, most despise?

I really don’t despise anyone. Is that bad?

What is your greatest regret?

Not waking up and letting Blair walk out on me.

What is the quality you most like in a man?

Integrity.

What is the quality you most like in a woman?

Honesty. I could really put both of these for male and female. Integrity, honesty, a good heart.

Who is your favorite hero in fiction?

All right, so, I’m a nerd. Comic book, they’re fiction, right? Going with Batman.

Which living person do you most admire?

Synyster Gates. Just…amazing. You don’t just hear him play, you feel it.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

To live a more healthy lifestyle. Come on…pizza and pudding cups? I have to knock this stuff out or I’ll regret it when I’m 40. Haha!

What is your motto?

Live life to fullest. Give and love everyone.

Phew, is it just me or did the screen fog up. Thanks for being here today Hunter and remember to check out the Book Blitz about The Shoe to find out where you can hunt down Hunter.
